Shipping and Returns Policy:

All items are thoroughly inspected by us prior to packing and shipping to avoid any kind of inconvenience to our customers, if you encounter a defect or broken item, often times the carrier is the cause of the problem. The merchandise once loaded becomes the property of the customer; the title goods and risk of damage at that time is passed from our hands to the Buyer. It is the responsibility of the trucking company, as per the terms of bill of lading to deliver the item in same conditions as it was picked up. Hinges is not responsible for any kind of damage to merchandise in transit or storage once the product leaves our facility.

Damages:

Inspect all the item carefully against your copy invoice in presence of the truck driver and if damage is discovered make a detailed note of it on the bill of lading and have the driver sign it.

For Boxes items: If the box appears to be damaged, there is a possibility that item inside may be damaged as well, in such a case it is advisable to check the item and if a damage is discovered make detailed note of it on the bill of lading and have the driver sign it. Follow same procedure in case of shortage or missing parts. This will help to resolve freight claims with the carrier.

Following will be required to help expedite the process:

  1. A detailed photography showing both the issue and its original packing.
  2. Detailed description of the damages.

Customers picking up order must fully inspect product upon pickup. Hinges is not responsible for any kind of damage or missing items once the order is picked up from our facility.

Return Policy:

ALL RETURNS ARE SUBJECT TO A 15% RE-STOCKING FEE and must have prior approval by Hinges. A request for returns must be submitted within (5) business days from the date merchandise has been received. Unauthorized repairs and returns will not be accredited by Hinges. Shipping charges both ways is nonrefundable and will be deducted from refund.

Customers requesting re-shipping do so at their own cost.
To qualify for refund:

  1. Items must be in new condition
  2. The product must be shipped back in its original packing and must be packed in a way so as to guarantee its integrity during return shipping.
  3. Credit will not be given if merchandise is used or breaks due to poor packaging during return shipping.

Claims:

Always check the items against the Bill of Lading as they are unloaded. NEVER SIGN A BILL OF LADING UNLESS YOU ARE SURE THAT THERE ARE NO FREIGHT DAMAGES OR MISSING ITEMS. There is no recourse either with Hinges or the trucking company if items are discovered to be missing or damaged at a later date.

All claims must be filed with the carrier immediately upon receipt of merchandise for exposed damage, concealed damage, or shortage.

Claim other than damage like manufacturing defect or wrong item etc. must be filed within 5 business days of receipt of goods, failure to do so constitute full acceptance of order by the customer.

Our relationship is solely with the dealer and not their customer and no warranty expressed or implied is extended by Hinges to customer.

IN NO EVENT SHALL SELLER BE LIABLE FOR SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR FOR ANY INDIRECT DAMAGES SUCH AS, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. SELLER MAKES NO WARRANTIES OR REPRESENTATIONS, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, IN FACT OR IN LAW, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY. BUYER’S EXCLUSIVE REMEDY AND SELLER'S SOLE LIABILITY ON ANY CLAIM OR LEGAL OR EQUITABLE ACTION, WHETHER CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, SHALL BE LIMITED TO REIMBURSEMENT OF BUYER'S ACTUAL COST OF THE GOODS WHICH GAVE RISE TO THE SAID CLAIM OR LEGAL OR EQUITABLE ACTION; HOWEVER, IN NO EVENT SHALL SELLER BE LIABLE FOR INDEMNIFICATION OF BUYER ON ACCOUNT OF ANY CLAIM OR EQUITABLE ACTION ASSERTED AGAINST BUYER FOR ANY OTHER OR FURTHER DAMAGES WHATSOEVER WHETHER DIRECT OR INDIRECT.

Wood and Finish:

All Hinges products are hand crafted out of fine quality solid wood. We use Mango, Acacia, Sheesham for our furniture creation, these are hardwoods indigenous to India, with a firm compact texture and are extremely durable. We also have an extensive range of products made from reclaimed and recycled wood. Wood has natural characteristics of being affected by changes in environmental conditions, natural occurrences like slight shrinkage and plank movement and seasonal cracks may be seen from time to time but these do not affect the durability and sturdiness of the product. Discreet attention is given to every detail ensuring higher and consistent product quality. Each piece is handcrafted using timeless woodworking techniques ensuring durability of our products. Superficial imperfections like uneven surface, knots or cracks within the wood etc. are considered natural distress and add to its appeal. . There products available at the hardware store that can conceal it.

All Hinges products are handcrafted from properly seasoned wood, kiln dried to a certain moisture level, which provides a means to overcome any limitations imposed by erratic weather condition and ensures minimum expandability .The wood is also treated to resist any kind fungi or bugs attack.

The finishes in a collection have an overall consistency in the tone, but we cannot guarantee exact matching. Superficial imperfections like presence of knots, cracks within the wood, etc. may be seen, these are considered natural distress and do not constitute a defect.

Shipping weights and measurements provided are subject to change without prior notice. Hinges is not responsible for difference in shipping cost arising out of it.

Lead Time and pricing:

Providing premium quality products at competitive price and with accurate lead times form the basis of our company structure. It takes 7 to 10 business days for a complete order to be shipped out. Lead time for out of stock items is 6 to 8 weeks. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Shipping & Drop Ship:

We try to negotiate best shipping rates for our customers. All our products are shipped FOB Dallas, Texas unless otherwise specified. We could also Drop ship an order directly to your customer. Please call Hinges representative for more information.

Delay processing of an order:

The delay in processing an order may happen: if a guaranteed payment method is not established, there are credit issues, order information is incomplete. New customers are required to provide a copy of the resale certificate or tax id number at the time of placing an order.

 Furniture Care/ Warranty :

Product care :

1. We recommend dusting the furniture with soft lint free cloth, doing so enhances thelook of the furniture and helps to prevent scratches from dust particles. Do not use chemical spray or water as it may damage the finish .

2. Avoid exposing the furniture to continuous direct sunlight, near air conditioning/ heating vents and extreme temperatures, as it may affect the furniture piece.

3. We recommend getting professional assistance for fixing any dents ,polosing and waxing.

4. We recommend use of mats to prevent spills and damages from hot or cold dishes. In case of spills blot immediately with a soft lint free cloth. Contact with water or any direct moisture can leave rings and blemishes on the surface. 

 

Warranty :

Hinges Solid Wood Furniture is extremely proud of the workmanship of our product. We realize that purchasing our furniture is an investment in quality that will last for generations to come.

The limited warranty period of one year begins at the time of receipt of the furniture being delivered to an Authorized Dealer .

Modifications done by a dealer, the consumer or other parties will void this warranty. This warranty applies only when the furniture purchased is for normal indoor household use (or is gifted as a normal household purpose.) In addition, damage from misuse, neglect, incorrect maintenance or abuse is not covered under the warranty. It also does not apply to commercial use which includes rental, business or institutional. Hinges will not be responsible for shipping costs to or from the consumers/dealer’s location for work completed under this warranty.

 

LIMITATIONS: USE/CARE

  • Warranty is limited to normal single shift use.
  • Warranty is limited to generally accepted care and maintenance of natural wood products and environments.
  • Superficial imperfections like presence of knots, Seasonal cracks within the wood, plank movement etc. may be seen, these are considered natural distress and do not constitute a manufacturing defect.

 

  • Natural wood surfaces are subject to denting, scratching, and gauging if not properly used and cared for. Warranty is subject to use and care in accordance with the use and care instructions provided in the Product Care section  (including, but not limited to, the care and maintenance guide

 

  • Damage identified as carrier or installer related.
  • Normal wear and tear of wood products during course of ownership.
  • Damages or failures resulting from misuse, abuse, negligence, improper care, modifications, or relocation.
  • Non-Commercial use or locations.
  • So-called "ghost" indentions and similar damage caused by the improper use
  • All Warranty Claims are subject to Hinges-approved inspections. Disputes may involve independent 3rd party evaluation
  • Damages to seating products caused by contact with tables, desks, or other surfaces
